My deepest condolences to Jim's family and friends. I was so sorry to hear of his passing. I knew Jim 25 years ago when he played brilliant music with Tony, Donal, and Padriac. I was an international student from America a very long way from home, but we ended up listening to them play in the pubs every week. Those are truly among my most treasured memories of my time living in Galway. Not only was he a brilliant musician, but a very kind man.

Less than two years ago I came back to Galway for my wedding. I had reached out to Tony to ask if he would be willing to play some music the night of our wedding. Thankfully he agreed, and convinced Padriac and Jim to come along as well. I was, and continue to be, so grateful for that night of music, laughter and friendship. May Jim rest in peace.
