Comhbhròn ó chroí leat, a Rita. This is such sad, sudden news, though our paths did not cross in recent times nearly as much as we would have liked.
Your Jim was such a gentleman and living proof that a man can be witty, hilarious, intelligent and informative without a moment's coarseness ever passing his lips.
The fun! The sides-aching laughter we all shared; the dinner in the fridge, uncooked until tomorrow - maybe, with a bit of luck, if that bright green car wasn't parked across the street, beckoning, calling for more diversion, more procrastination and more laughter and not a single solitary moment of it regretted. EVER!
Such a caring, generous man, his lovely smile, and deep, gentle voice full of humour, intelligence and mischief that could and should go on until the end of time.

What a terrible shock. Rita you have my greatest sympathy. Jim and I grew up together in the Vinegar Hill neighborhood of Manhattan. We were partners in all our youthful endeavors. It was also always a joy to stop by on our visits to Ireland. He will be greatly missed☘️🇺🇸

Dear Rita, I am so sorry to find out that your lovely Jim has died.
Remembering the good old days when ye were in The Thatch in Headford.
Such fun times, ye were the best and Jim introduced me to .....Pina Coladas!
I've had a few down through the years but often thought.....nope, not as good as Jim Harkin's.
Haven't seen either of ye in years, lots of changes since then.
