Dear Sheila, Michael, Siobhán - I am so saddened at Jim's passing. He epitomised civility, a man of intelligence and consideration, always gentle and thoughtful. Jim had so much of the trademark Humphreys stoicism. He seemed to me to tread lightly on the world, a little bemused, a tad ironic, yet unfailingly generous. Effortlessly courteous while emanating a steady genuine warmth. I am very sorry we can't be with you to celebrate his life today. We will remember him at distance; our thoughts are with you.
