Jim Joe RIP....a pure gentleman, cherished memories of a great and wonderful friend and neighbour we've lost from Greagh and the fireside ceile'n he made and the many tricks we played on him and him on us... will be remembered always as an honourable honest, dependable, trustworthy gentleman whom won't need canvassing to enter the gates of heaven. You truly deserve your chains there too.
Rest in Peace Jim Joe

A wonderful man, delighted to have known him. May he rest in peace.
The first public representive whom I felt was more interested in helping others than in his political beliefs.

Sincere sympathy on the passing of Jim Joe, a gentleman in every sense of the word, may the light of heaven shine brightly on him
I worked for many years with Jim on the old General Council of County Councils which was the representative body for County and City Councils in Ireland. It was a proud day for his native Leitrim when Jim became national president of the organization in 2001/2. He was a gentleman who brought a sense of gravitas to the role while being unfailingly polite and approachable. May Jim rest in the peace of Heaven which he so well deserves. Jim joe was a gentleman with a lovely style and manner.he had a pleasant disposition and interested in all those he represented as well as those he did not represent. He was a farmer during the great changes of EU subsidies and the modernization of rural living.when you thought of the great people of Cloone parish his name will be remembered with affection.May he rest in peace.
