Didn’t know that Jim had died until today. I had the privilege of knowing Jim and enjoying his company.He made a huge contribution to Ireland’s safety as a dedicated and loyal public servant. I am very sorry to hear about Jim. He and my father, Frank, were great friends having met through their respective civil service roles. I will always remember their long conversations around election time when they would be predicting the outcomes in all the constituencies. Frank died in 2018 but I kept up the tradition and called Jim for his insight during the last election. May he Rest in Peace

May I offer my sympathies to all Jim’s relatives . I got to know him over the past decade and he was a proud native of Enniscorthy and a person of real value and substance . We’ll miss him .
I was very sad to hear of Jim’s passing. A man of great integrity and honesty, he served the country well and a great many should be grateful for how he always stood for democracy. I certainly am. May he rest in peace.
