I was deeply saddened to hear of Jim's passing this winter. I was privileged to have known Jim and his late wife Cleo, from their many evenings and Sunday afternoons dining in the Courthouse Restaurant in Kinlough.
I have fond childhood memories of Jim introducing me to literature and knowledge I otherwise wouldn't have known of, including many old copies of National Geographic, as well as documentaries and beautiful old books.
He was a kind, intelligent and respectful person who expanded my understanding of the world at a young age, and I will be forever grateful for this. My sincerest condolences to his family.
I hope that he has now found peace.
I was very sorry to hear of Jim’s death. RIP. The last time I met him was at my Mother’s (Mabel) funeral.
My heartfelt sympathy to all the O’Carroll family.

Sending our condolences to Myles and all the O Carroll family on the sad passing of your beloved Jim. May he Rest in Peace.
What a handsome, beautiful man you were Jim and what a wonderful life you lived.
Anytime I met you in Ballyshannon you loved reminiscing about my parents Eileen and Bernard.
Our last wee chat on the phone was when your beloved Cleo died. Now you are forever together.
Sympathy and love to all my O Carroll cousins.
So saddened to hear this news. Our deepest condolences to the O'Carroll family on your loss.

Our father and uncle Seamus O'Rourke always spoke about his rescue in 1957 by Jim, the lifeguard in Bundoran. We had the great privilege of being with Jim and Seamus at their reunion in 2022 65 years after the rescue, a time of celebration and fond memories.
We as a family are forever in debt to Jim for saving Seamus' life.
Rest in eternal peace Jim.
My condolences to Brian and the O’Carroll family on the sad passing of Jim. He was a lovely friendly gentleman. My thoughts are with you at this sad time. May he rest in peace
