Often met him at Tim Mulcahys garage. He was very mild mannered but his manner left a lasting impression on anyone he met. Always calm every situation under control.

It is with deep sadness that I learn of the Passing of Jim. This brings me back many years ago when Jim was the stalwart of St. Munchins Boys Club in Thomondgate. A kind, gentle caring Man who was a Father figure to so many club members. I have fond memories of Jim driving the club minibus. I can still hear the sing songs in the bus. He brought us to so many places that otherwise we would not have seen. He actively encouraged the personal development of all members and treated all equally and fairly. From the weeks holiday in Ballybunion, Saturday night movie in the club, the annual variety shows, swimming lessons, the snooker competitions, kneeling to say the club prayer each evening, I could go on and on and none of this would have happened without Jim and his fellow committee members, in particular Andy Meehan and Mr. Swan. Jim gave selfishly of his time and he brought us so much me joy, laughter and happiness during our club years. He commanded the respect of all club members. He leaves us with great happy memories that will last a life time
My deepest sympathy to his family on the sad passing of one of life’s kind, gentle souls.
Sleep peacefully Mr. Chairman.
