I got to know Jim over the past few years on my visits to my wife at Bons Secours Care Home. There was something very special about him, especially his smile, his handshake and the love of his Cahirsiveen roots. He loved it when we sang "The Boys of Barr na Sraide" and of course there was always his willingness to sing "The Fields of Athenry" We hope the love and memories you have all shared with Jim over the years will bring you comfort in the difficult times ahead. RIP Jim.

Sincere Sympathies & Thoughts to the O’Shea Family, extended Family & Friends. Jim was more than a Gentleman and a was a great Engineer. Lucky in my early career to be hired by Jim (July 1994-June 1998). He had so much drive, enthusiasm and passion, and to this day the only person I had a job to keep up walking against (which I found out after a 6 km site walk the first day I joined McGinty & O’Shea). Always thinking of Jim down through the years and he raised my awareness in the way I approached projects & clients. My thoughts again to his Family and May He Rest in Peace. Grief has no timetable when something like this happens, it is very difficult to say goodbye and even harder when it is to someone like Jim.

One day we all will wake up and things will not hurt as bad; we will be able to recall all the good things about Jim and not just the end.
May ye find comfort in recalling the very special moments that illuminated the days throughout the years. These moments I hope will give ye the strength ye need as there is no right way to grieve. Let the memories ye shared shine and brighten in remembrance for years to come.

I never would have felt ready to finally say goodbye, I am increasingly saddened during this challenging time to learn about Jim’s passing. Indeed, I am honoured to have spent time with Jim on the various mountains walking and chatting, his kindness, generosity and his sense of humor brought so much joy, laughter into our lives while we walked over the years, he was a gentleman and a true friend.

May Jim now be at ease. R.I.P.
