My sincere condolences to Debbie, Darragh, Jackie, Louise & all the extended family. I was shocked and saddened to hear of Jim's untimely passing. He was a pure gent with his sparkling eyes and brilliant smile always, he'll be sadly missed by all who knew him, someone so special can never be forgotten, may he rest in peace.

Hello to Debbie, Darragh and Jim’s family, colleagues and many musical friends. Pease accept my sincere condolences on Jim’s passing. I was so very sorry to hear about this. He was one of life’s gentlemen in many senses of the word.

So many great memories of a kind man and wonderful musician.

What a beautiful Person Jim was, and Iv wonderful Memories. I wish I hadn't lost touch, yet when ever I was Home and bumped into Jim I was always meet with a Smile. Been at Jim's funeral today was such a sad day but what a wonderful mass and Gathering. RIP Jim. Xxdave

Deepest condolences to Debbie and Darragh and extended family . thinking of Jim this morning with great warmth and respect for a lovely man and superb musician , I've known Jim most of my musical life and have never heard him utter a bad word about anyone ever , he would do anything for you , he didn't know how to say NO to people he always found a way to help., he' ll be highly missed by a very large music fraternity to whom is was held in very high regard . So go now Jim and slap that big bad Bass in the sky .

Very sad to hear of Jim's passing. I first met Jim when growing up in Drimnagh in the 70s. I remember Jim always had a smile and had time to stop and have a chat, focus on the conversation in hand, a unique gift. One of the ‘Magnificent’. Rest In Peace Jim. It was a pleasure to have known you.
I was shocked to hear of Jim’s death. My thoughts are with you Debbie, Darragh, Jasmin and extended family at this very sad time.
Sad news of Jim's passing. Wishing all his family well in this tough time. Always had great laughs and jokes with Jim anytime I met him at concerts and gigs. He was a wonderful bass player and a lovely man.
Very fondly remembering Jim from his days playing in Labata and later on many memories chatting backstage of the NCH on concert rehearsals having a laugh and telling each jokes and funny stories.He was a warm and genuine man who always made me feel welcome whenever we were in the hall. He will be missed by so many and remembered fondly and with much love. Thank you Jim for your friendship and may you rest in peace my friend.
My go to man, inside and outside the Concert Hall. Multiple Orchestras, Multiple bands, no problem, Jim was the man. The only problem was that he set the bar so high, he ruined it for the rest of us.
He was a colleague, but after 33 years a true friend who always had time for me and everyone else. My condolences to Debbie, Darragh and all of the Tate family,
My heart is broken and we in the Concert hall will make sure Jim's memory lives on.
Jim was a lovely guy, always happy and smiling. He played music with my brothers Eugene and Niall Murphy years ago. The last time I seen him was March 2020 in the National Concert Hall just before lock down and it was wonderful to catch up with him. He will be sadly missed. A fantastic musician. Sincerest condolences to Debbie, Darragh and the Tate family on the sad passing of Jim. We knew Jim from his Absolutely Yo day's and only recently bumped into him at the Undertones gig. Where there was music, there was Jim. His loss will be felt by all who knew and loved him. Rest in peace Bass Man.

I toured with Jim in Eleanor McEvoy's band. Had the pleasure of working with him on many shows in the NCH & Jim was always a kind and welcoming face, aswell as a brilliant stage manager. A wonderful musician with a wicked sense of humour. Tread well, Sir.....
