It is with deep sadness that I learned today of the death of Jimmy. He was an esteemed colleague of mine when I taught in St. Michael's in Trim. I found him as a young teacher from Galway to be very helpful and supportive of me. We sat beside each other in Croke Park for the All Ireland final between Galway and Kerry. An absolute gentleman. I have nothing but the fondest memories of him. I wish to express my deepest sympathies to Mary and all the family. I know how much you all loved and cared for him. Unfortunately, I will not be able to attend the funeral, but I will keep you all in my thoughts and prayers. May Jimmy rest in heavenly peace.
