Jimmy was full of life and was always jolly. He loved his gardening and

Though I didn’t get many opportunities to meet Jimmy, I know how much he meant to Eoin and to the rest of his family — Barry, Carmel, Shane, Sean, and Johnathan. Eoin has spoken to me often about the happy memories he shared with his granddad, and I think it’s a beautiful thing to have had those moments together — memories to look back on fondly for years to come. My thoughts and prayers are with all of the families who were lucky enough to have known such a special person.

I've known Jimmy for many years in Howth Golf Club. I should like to extend sincere condolences to all the McHugh family on the death of Jimmy, whom I regard as a truly good man.
I recall Jimmy bringing me home from my Captain's Dinner in December 2002 - a small act of kindness, entirely characteristic of the man, which I remember and appreciate to this day.
May Jimmy now enjoy the reward of a life well lived and rest in the eternal peace of the Lord.

I have so many happy memories of Uncle Jimmy especially when I stayed with you for a couple of weeks when I was little and he would call me Lena Ena. Sorry to hear about Jim's passing. Played cards with Jim in Ardlea. We played Whist. I think Jim would have preferred Solo. Jim was a great card player and wonderful company. His tales of how he used 'bunk off' to play Borris golf club were always worth listening to. He would have been happy at Dublin's win over Limerick. We could have debated that for a while. His pleasure when he produced a trump to win a trick accompanied by that laugh, was infectious. His 'annoying' Helen at the cards was also part of his divilment. It was great to have him as part of the Ardlea Whist group. We have missed his presence over the last while. We had hoped for his return. Unfortunately, that is not to be. Slán Jim you will be missed.
