My sincerest sympathies to the relatives of a great friend, Jimmy O’ Rourke. Jimmy was an upright, honest and committed Christian. He was a genuine Corkonian and he served Cork, the Glen and the Pioneer Movement with honour and integrity. He was extremely honest and vigilant on the scoreboard in the Park.
May his gentle soul rest in peace and may he enjoy eternity in the company of his deceased Glen Rovers friends.

I only heard today while attending the West Cork Hurling final that Jimmy had gone to his eternal reward. I knew him for almost 50 yrs going back to my days in the Cork Savings Bank in Lapps Quay.We shared a lot of interests in politics,sport and religion.

It is with great sadness that I learned of the death of Jimmy O’Rourke . He was a tireless worker and a great GAA man. I have great memories of Jimmy when we were involved with the Inter Firm Board. My deepest sympathy to his sisters and extended family.

Uncle Jimmy our meetings were few and far between, but always left a lasting memory. Your sense of humour and wit always made us laugh, you will be missed.

He gave a lot of time to many communities with commitment and dedication. Always started the Eucharistic Procession on time from the North Chapel.
