So sad to hear of JoJo's passing. Our paths hadn't crossed for a few years but she was always in my thoughts. Every time we did meet, it was like the years in between melted away. I met Josephine during a trip to Greece. It’s rare to find people with such a powerful intelligence as she had. Beyond being a person of rare sensitivity, she also possessed an uncommon artistic talent and a luminous soul. I’m deeply shaken by this news. Even if it sounds cliché to say so, I truly believe that Jo Jo’s spirit is extraordinarily strong and will stay with us. There are human beings who leave a mark because their souls are greater than others. Josephine is now in all things and walks beside us.

Jo Jo and her mam were lovely members of the Forget Me Nots choir. Jo Jo always took such great care of her mam and enjoyed singing with us every Tuesday. We were so shocked and deeply saddened to hear of JoJo’s passing.

We feel so lucky to have had her as our neighbour over the past number of years. To say she was a joy is an understatement. Her kindness, gentleness and generosity towards our children were truly special, and her warmth and thoughtfulness meant so much to us all.

Every Halloween and Christmas Eve she went out of her way to make a real fuss of them. Each Christmas Eve she would arrive with little surprises that somehow even Santa didnt know they wanted, but she did. Those memories will stay with them always.

We will always remember our lovely and kind neighbour JoJo with great affection. She will be so sadly missed.

Many many years ago I worked with Josephine at the Shelbourne, during the re-opening of the Grand Dame. No matter the stresses and the crazy times at the Hotel those days, Josephine was always super helpful, calm, poised with a big smile on her face. My condolences to her family at this terrible time.

I had the absolute pleasure of working with Jo at The Shelbourne, such a wonderful, kind hearted person that lit up any room she was in! So shocked at her sudden passing but pray strength and courage that everyone lucky to know her will find warm comfort in treasured memories!

I met JoJo through my dear friend Claire, and from the very first moment, she struck me as one of the most genuinely kind people I had ever encountered — not just in Ireland, but in my entire life.
She had this rare gift of making everyone around her feel seen and loved. The world is a little darker without her light in it.

....JoJo always looked on the bright side of everything, and always did her best to bring as much cheerfulness and joyousness to every situation, both good and bad. She always strove to keep everyone happy and be there to care lovingly and devotedly for her brother, John and her Mam, and babysitting her nieces and nephews when they were toddlers, and helping her sister with her business. We went to secondary school and UCD together and I used to bump into her at the blob outside the art's cafe for a quick chat. It is still hard to believe that she is gone. You will be greatly missed JoJo, love you always, wish you were still here with us! Thinking of Josie and Tommy and JoJo's siblings and closest friends at this very difficult time.

Very shocked and saddened to hear of the passing of our dearest cousin JoJo. It is hard to believe that we were just looking at home movies of us as children last week with Mam and Josie and recalling our wonderful and happy shared memories and shared experiences of our childhood in the Meadows house and Nana's house. She mentioned about catching up again in the next few weeks, and I was really looking forward to seeing her again for a chat but very sadly this cannot be. I was always happy to see her blue car pull up in the driveway. I never had a sister but JoJo was the closest I had to a sister in our childhood years and I always enjoyed her company. One of my first memories of her as a toddler was attending her dancing recitals and rehearsals in the Billie Barrie stage school, and of course the fun times going to the Bray Amusement Park, playing tennis together in the Meadows and St Anne's Park, going swimming in St. Paul's, going to see Pocahontas in the cinema, playing Aladdin on the Sega Mega Drive, playing children's games in Nana's house or dancing and singing to her favourite songs and musicals, and sitting with her whilst she was glued to the screen watching Neighbors on the TV and eating popcorn to name a few. I will always fondly remember the happy and great times we spent together growing up as children and later on throughout our lives....
