I first got to know Joan well through The Longford Association-Dublin, to which she contributed much, whether leading the talent team, or in her role as PRO. Joan never stinted in her efforts. I am saddened to the depth of my soul for my Irish mother, Joan Barrett.
You came into my life in the late 80s you brought together many many friendships, marriages, and the Irish culture which at the time, I knew nothing about.
Many memories were made and set in gold forever, you will never be forgotten, for you are one of the most beautiful ladies I have ever set eyes upon.
You got to know my whole family, and they are all grieving tremendously as we speak.
I will never forget your kind heart, your thoughtful words, but most of all when you used to give me into trouble.
Rest in peace, my Bonnie Lass I have only one word that describes you, LEGEND.
