I just had a message from a friend in Cork who gave me the sad news of Joan’s death. Sincere condolences to Garry, Stephen & all her family.
I was reared in Bellair. I’m gone from there for more than 40 years now but I have lovely memories of Joan’s kindness - especially to my mother, Pearl Naughton - after I got married & moved away. When my 1st child was born she gave me a gift of a Camellia shrub - which is still going strong 37 years later! She was a really great friend & neighbour.
