We are deeply saddened by Joan’s death who battled cancer for many years with great courage. Joan was a wonderful woman, a great mother, grandmother and friend to so many. She will be remembered for her sense of humour and laugh. She will be missed by all who knew her. We extend our heartfelt sympathy to all the family

My condolences, John, on the loss of your mother. Little did I realise, when I bumped into you shopping in Tesco on Saturday that you were in mourning. The loss of a mother is such a heavy burden to bear. I didn’t know her but the sentiments expressed on these pages tell me that she was a rare one!
