I worked with Joan in AIB. So sorry for your loss. She was a great character. Full of life, and very popular she was so funny with great wit and a lovely glamoures lady.

Many thanks to everyone who left messages of condolence for Joan and my family, plus extended family . Thanks to all the locals who came to her funeral mass in Ardee this morning , and some of the things they told me were extremely funny . She really made some very good friends in Ardee in the few years she lived there . She had a great sense of humour, and could light up a room . Also thanks to the people from Athlone who came to her mass this morning, we are really greatfull . Some family members who i had not seen for a while, as we all live in different parts of the country . And even a couple of her old school friends . Special thanks to the undertakers Finlays who gave Joan a great send off, they are totally professional . Life wont be the same without her funny text messages, but she is back with our parents, Patrick and Angela, and sister Beatrice in Heaven .

It was with great sadness that we heard about the passing of Joan. She was a great friend to us here , our last chat in the shop consisted of me saying whats the story with the pink hair and her reply was " its my natural colour" .
We will miss her good humor and chats and the craic .

I extend my sincere sympathy to the Dolan family. I had not seen Joan since she moved up to Adree. I worked with Joan in AIB Bank. She was such a character full of life. When we took early retirement we often met in town for lunch. Joan adored her niece and her great nieces and nephews. We also had great chats about the midlands as my Dad was brought up in Kilbeggan.
