On behalf of Sean and Terry, the residents and staff of St.Anthony’s nursing home, we would like to offer our sincere sympathies to Annette, Trish and Kieran on the sad passing of their beautiful Mother, Joan. It is with deep sadness that we say goodbye to Joan, a lady loved by all who had the pleasure to know her and care for her. Joan was a friend to us all, her big smile, her friendly advice, her straight forward thinking and talking and her fiercely independent way of living stood out to us all. When things went wrong or we had news, Joan was the first port of call. She looked for absolutely nothing, going about her day as if she were at home doing her own thing. She loved a cigarette and the chats that came with them, this is where she met other residents and their families who all loved Joan too. Her sense of humour and her straight up answers always had us smiling and laughing. Joan was kind and patient, she never complained or gave out and was always in good humour. Her family were her life, her daily visits from her daughters and their many trips out together is what kept Joan going. We will miss Joan terribly, she understood when we needed to talk and always kept it to herself. Joan we hope you are at peace and reunited with all your loved ones that have gone before you. Rest easy now in the arms of the angels.
