My sympathy and prayers to Joan's family on their sad loss - may her noble soul now rest in Heavenly peace. Joan was a wonderful nurse; I worked in St France Hospice day care unit and on occasions had to ring Joan re ongoing care of patients; Joan couldn't be more helpful and always went the extra mile, nothing seemed any trouble to her, even if the request was out of hours. May she now reap her reward in Heaven.

I completed the Mater theatre course in 94 and learned so much from Joan , skills I am still using daily at work to care for my patients . She cared greatly for patients and for us her students although at times she had to “coax” us to learn. She was ahead of her time with nurse education. Our class remember so many stories of our time with her.
Thinking of her family and friends at this sad time.
