I first got to know Mrs Jevens as I first knew her when I joined the Cathedral Choir some 36 years ago. Over the years Joan, as she told me to call her, left an indelible mark on me as she always encouraged me to sing. I can see her sitting in the front row on the organ gallery alongside her great friend Kay Ronan

As a trained opera singer, Joan brought that sense of class to the soprano line and her love of latin hymns was a joy to behold. It's without doubt that the Heavenly choir were in need of a soprano with class

May the angels lead you into paradise and may the Heavenly Choirs sing aloud "E che sacerdos Magnus" as you are welcomed through the gates.

JOAN and I met in 1995 when we were both patients in Cork orthopedic hospital we were in a very big ward she was just inside the door on the left and i was in the next bed we had great chats. We exchanged Christmas cards every year since hers always arrived on the 8th December. Rest in peace dear Joan

Susan,John Jerard, Billy and families,we are deeply sorry for the loss of your wonderful mum. Im so lucky to have got to know her over the years
She was a very strong,and great womsn for one woman. She was so knowledgeable. Never a boring conversation had. She was so proud of you all, especially her grandchildren,she never stopped worrying about you all. She said that was her job. Many times, i came off the phone and had a pain from laughing with her. May she rest in peace knowing she was loved so much,and she, in turn, loved you all equally as much. Rest in peace Joan,and thankyou for showing us all that life is for living,and we must all live it to the best we can. She is back in our lords arms.
