Our sincere condolences to the Keague and Sarsfield families on Joan's passing. Joan spoke to Radio Maria Ireland staff members and volunteers on so many occasions during recent years. She would phone in looking for prayers for her family members and friends and always enjoyed a chat and a good laugh! She was an avid fan of the station and was so warm and kind in all her interactions with us. She brought a loving heart to everyone she interacted with and you always felt uplifted after chatting with Joan. We will miss her greatly – especially all the prayers she offered and the many candles she lit for us. May she rest in eternal joy and peace. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a h-anam dílis.

My sincerest condolences to Joan's family. I was shocked and saddened to hear of her passing. Joan was a lovely lady who saw the best in everyone. I had many chats and laughs with her on the phone when she rang in to Radio Maria. She always spoke so highly of her sons, daughters-in-law and her grandchildren and loved them all dearly. Our lovely aunty Joan had so much time for everyone she met. She cared so much about her family and loved to chat about Nanny, Granda and her siblings growing up in Ballsgrove. To my dear auntie Joan - we’re all in such shock and you’ll be so sadly missed.

Anyone she met was greeted with a warm smile. She always saw the good in people and thought of others before herself.
I’m very glad that that she was able to come to our wedding ceremony last year even when she wasn’t feeling her best.

Her lengthy phone calls will always be remembered!! One of the Sarsfield sisters, she’ll be forever missed.
She is now with her parents, brother Desmond and niece Siobhán.

It was with such great sadness we heard of Dear Joans passing.
Our sympathy to all of Joans immediate families, friends and neighbours, And Most especially to her adored grandchildren .
We had only met Joan on a few occasions, she was always so friendly, welcoming ,caring ,joyful and full of intersting chat. We felt so very comfortable in her presence.
It was truly an honour to have known such a gentle loving caring Lady that was Joan.
May Joans gentle caring soul now find rest in eternal peace.

To my dearest sister joan, I cant believe Im writing this on rip, we are all still in shock, we were eight years apart in age, she would always refer to me as her baby sister, I would laugh at that, our last conversation night before Her operation was she was worried about my health, She was very anxious about next day, I told her she was in our prayers as she always was and just think of herself, and we would talk soon. Joan had a very deep faith, which gives us great comfort. She loved to talk about Mam and dad always and our dearest brother Desmond and niece Siobhàn, She is with them all now, which gives us great comfort. She loved to remember her younger days growing up in mell, trinity st. and Ballsgrove, happy times great memories. Joan was very friendly with all she met just like Mam, and had many friends in Drogheda, and she also only saw the good in people, a great quality to have. She always cared about our family and loved them all as they loved her too. I will love and miss you joan forever, my big sister, xx Pamela, Christy, Christopher, gràinne and Nìamh. Eimèar, Conor and David. ❤️

Dennis and I were very sorry to hear of Joan’s passing. I remember happy days when Joan and I would go to the pictures and we saw The Sound of Music so many times! The Sarsfield family were lovely neighbours and our Mothers were great friends. We extend our deepest sympathies to Joe,Bernadette, Delores and Pamela and to Joans husband and family.
