We were so sorry to hear about the passing of Joan. She often dropped in to visit while in Doolough and was such a beautiful, caring person. She will be sadly missed. Sincere condolences to all the extended family.

Dear Paddy, Gabrielle and Paul, my sincere condolences on the death of Joan. She was such a life part of my childhood and all of you. I remember all the great times we had in Oak Villa. I am sure you will miss her very much, she was so talented and vibrant. And intelligent. I did not realise she was so sick.

with her wonderful infectious smile (as in the photo). Sadly I did not have that pleasure recently as I knew she
was unwell and she was very much on my prayer list. To have lost such a beautiful person in your life must
be devastating, may you all find comfort in each other and enjoy the wonderful memories you shared with Joan
over the years. A beautiful star is lighting up her eternal home as she flies with the Angels.

I was at school with Joan many years ago. We had hoped to meet her at our recent reunion. Sadly she was not able to be with us.

She was dedicated to her family especially her grandchildren. Joan was talented in the culinary skills and in addition was excellent at needlework including tapestry. She was enjoyable company, utilising her love of analysing and dissecting books, some in French, also in the arts and world affairs. May Joan rest in peace.

My sincerest condolences to all in the Leonard and Bowe families and all her friends. I was fortunate to meet some Joan 20 years ago, when she and Gabrielle set up Vendredi Français, meeting weekly and speaking French in each others' homes. Her spirit will always be part of this group. I'll remember her especially for her caring and loving nature, her sense of fun, her generosity and inquisitive mind and her interest and involvement in the visual arts.

It was a pleasure to work with Joan in the HSE in Donnybrook and her work as a physiotherspist was much appreciated by her clients and colleagues. Joan had a bright energy and lit up the room.
