Sincere sympathy on Joan's passing. Joan was such a part of the village life when we were all growing up, remembering fond memories of her.

Sending my deepest sympathy to Seamus, Sean, Michael and all the Quirke and Kenifick families on the loss of Joan. May all your wonderful memories comfort you during this sad time. I loved working in Whitegate during the early 90s . Joan was a big of that, she'd pop in and always,we'd have a laugh, she was great fun and a great person. Rest in peace Joan 🙏

As a member of old Whitegate Community I have very fond memories of Joan as a joyful and heartful member of the group of children that gathered on the square outside Sheehan's Pub and the Main Street of Whitegate where the children gathered and enjoyed those long hot Summer days of old. Many years have passed since then but the memory lives on of Joan and the fun, laughter and joy that she brought to our games. Today she will be sadly missed in her passing and leaves an empty spot in our hearts at her going away. My deep sympathies and condolences I send to Seamus and Sean and also her brother Michael at this sorrowful time. May her spirit be at peace as she now joins again her parents long since passed over. My thoughts and memories will always be held with fondness in my heart and give thanks for her presence in that beautiful village resting in that East part of Cork. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

I extend my heartfelt condolences to Séamus, Seán and Micheál and all of Joan's extended family. My memory goes back many years to the time when I was a regular visitor to Séamus and Joan in Whitegate -before the years caught up with all of us. There was always a warm welcome and hospitality and even a sense that I almost belonged. I fondly remember the friendship, the chats and the laughs, and the visits to the various beaches; also the walks, the sunshine -and the visits to the pub! I regret not having been able to attend Joan's funeral Mass today. Right up to this morning I was still harbouring a hope that I would be able to get there, but the reality of my own poor health and two medical appointments prevented me from taking on the strain of the journey. Joan loved her parents dearly and now she is with them again in the company of our loving God who has kept them safe for her until she was able to join them.
