Deepest sympathy to the Quirke family. Joan was an artistic woman of wide interests and generosity of spirit. I recall her praying daily for each of the Northern Ireland political prisoners as they joined the 1981 hunger strike and continuing to do so for those who starved to death.
She was also a member of the Richard III Society! In Ardeen Nursing Home where her individuality was respected she bore the limitations of her final years with a quiet dignity and stoic acceptance. Go raibh suaimhneas síoraí aici.

We are sorry to hear of the death of Joan. Condolences to Elaine, Kevin, nieces, nephew and sisters -in-law. Joan, a teacher was an engaging and knowledgeable person, widely read and enjoyed travel.
