Dear Michael,

We are heartbroken to receive such sad news.
We had no idea that Joan was ill. It has obviously been a difficult and wretched time for you all but knowing Joan she was upbeat and stoic to the end. It was an honour to have known Joan, she was a wonderful person, kind upbeat and fun and we will never forget her and her friendship to all of us in Ashford House.

Michael can you please e-mail me your address, as I would like to send a card as would Marie who is equally shocked and saddened by this news.

Our deepest sympathies go out to you and your family. May God give you comfort and peace and may Joan rest in peace.

Kind regards
Denise
I remember Joan so well from her Return to Nursing Practice Course time in St. Vincent's University Hospital.
I was her Nurse Tutor. I remember her telling me she trained in Jervis St in the "olden days".
Joan was a capable, caring & brave lady who I think of very very fondly. So sorry to hear of her untimely death. Una Halligan.
