Joan was elegant of mind, body & spirit. Suprembly accomplished in so many fields ;she knew how to listen deeply to others. Education was her passion and she has touched the lives of many. I am deeply saddened to hear of her death and know you must all be heartbroken. Recall her stories of family travels & adventures spoken of with so much joy. You will miss her dearly.

I had the pleasure of being taught English for five of my six years at Presentation Secondary. When others told me to give up on my dreams, she told me that I would thrive in time. She saw something in me that few others did. I am where I am today because of her belief in me, I only wish I'd had the opportunity to thank her.
