Deepest sympathy to the Williams family. I got to know Joan, Victor and their lovely cat Max quiet well during the years I was living in Clonskeagh while attending UCD. Joan was always very kind to me. May she rest in peace.

I worked with Joan in the garage for 6 years way back when. A character of a woman with a bit heart, sorry to hear of her passing.

Very saddened to hear of Joan’s passing, we shared some very fond memories during my time in Mill Lane. Thinking on you all at this sad time

Dear Sandra - deepest sympathy on the death of your mother. I have good memories of working in the office in the garage in May/June 1976. I remember your Mum showing me how to write out the invoices by hand listing all the car parts! Hope to see you sometime soon with some other old school pals.

There was always a warm welcome. Joan and Victor were a beacon of wisdom and having them as my friends enriched my life. Their insights and kindness will be remembred fondly. So sad to hear of the loss of your amazing mum Joan. She was a woman way ahead of her time. I worked my first job in Williams Garage and your Mum instilled in me a confidence I didn’t know I had.
Herself and victor remained in contact with us for many years and we had a Christmas get together every year for many years. They kept us up way past our bedtime with lots of interesting chats and our kids also remember them very fondly.
Indeed they both still have the smallest little toy car that you pull back and it shoots forward demonstrated to them with such enthusiasm by Victor one Christmas. They were an amazing couple and the best of company.
We are away at present but will be with you all in our thoughts on Friday.
May Joan RIP.

What an exceptional woman she was. An inspiration to us all. Her kindness to Cathal, Caoimhe and Áine was so appreciated. I have no doubt your Dad was at Heaven’s Gates to welcome her home. They were a mighty team. As we say in the Irish language- and this is most definitely true about your Mum- Ní bheidh a leithéid riamh arís ann. Someone of Joan’s calibre will never ever be seen again. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a hanam. May Joan rest in peace. 🌺
