Joan was a wonderful woman who I had the great privilege of getting to know through her tireless fundraising work with the Irish Hospice Foundation. I enjoyed many cups of tea and conversations with her over the years. She had a fantastic way about her and a great sense of humour. Condolences to her family and many friends. May she rest in peace.
Very sorry to learn of Joan's passing. Sincere sympathies to Ellen and all of Joan's family and friends. All of her Home Support Workers were very fond of her and always enjoyed calling to see her. Rest in Peace Joan

We are so sorry to hear about Joan’s passing. Joan was a wonderful friend to my mum and dad, Frances and Chris and a regular guest at our house over the years. I always enjoyed meeting her and all the conversations we had. I loved her independence, style and joie de vivre. May she rest in peace.

Deepest sympathy to the wylde family on the death of Joan. May she rest in peace.
Joan was a fantastic woman who I had the privilege of living with during my college years. She was always great company with stories of times gone by and insightful commentary on current affairs, particualrly politics, and she kept her intellect and humour right up until she became unwell recently. She was a cousin and a great friend to my mother, Joan Landy, nee Dalton, who also lived with her when she worked for a time in CIE. I remember Joan visiting us when I was a child with her aunts Madge and Dolly, often coming around Halloween and bringing lots of treats, they were a unique trio. Her house was always our base for visits to Croke Park with plenty of tea and refreshments before and after matches. I remember the great work Joan did for the Irish Cancer Society, always out fundraising on daffodil day and beyond. Joan also loved playing golf with friends at Hermitage golf club where she was a respected Lady Captain. Joan was the model for female independence with an education, a career, a leader in her community, with a fabulous network of peers and friends. She was elegant, intelligent, resilient, assertive, sometimes authoritative, and always warm and generous. I am proud to have known her and to have had her as a guest of honour when I graduated from University. Thanks to Ellen and Maura for the fantastic care and friendship provided to her. Joan will always be fondly remembered by the Landy and Dalton families. May she rest in peace.
