Dear Michael, Nicola and all the Lynch family (Granville's and O’Flaherty),

In my parents house, there hangs a monochrome pencil drawing that Joan Marie did when she was very young. She was a great artist.
I have the fondest recollections of spending time with her during summers as a child on the beach. I used to love calling into your homeplace to admire the lovely outfits she wore- put together in multicolour and pattern with a dash of red lipstick.

She was beautiful and she was exciting to be around.

She’d talk clothes and colour to me and I'll never forget the Benetton cardigan she gave me when I was 10– it meant the world to me.

What resonates with me most about Joan Marie is how she always made an effort to engage and converse and me as a kid, in that lovely intoxicating way that mades you feel magic and that possibility was everywhere.
