My heartfelt sympathy goes out to Joann’s family and friends. I only met Joann once, working for Brian and Lynette, but I remember she thanked me for helping them in their home. Her gratitude has always stayed with me.
Really sorry to hear of Joann's passing. So patient and kind to all of us as young kids, invading your house most days. Your family introduced us to crayons, Tonka toys, gooseberries, Sesame Street and weird bicycles. Take care of yourselves.
Sincerest condolences to Joann’s children and many grandchildren, most of whom I had the pleasure of meeting at Aisling’s wedding. Caroline and I spent some lovely holiday time with Joann in Cazorla (including a celebratory evening out when we decided to get married) and enjoyed a nice weekend in Joann’s lovely Donnybrook home. RIP Joann.
Dear Brian and family, plesse accept our deepest sympathy on the passing of your beloved Mum. Rest in comfort knowing that she is in heaven and at rest. God Bless.
Dear Maeve, Una, Brian & Áine, thinking of you all with love & deepest sympathy at the loss of your amazing Mom. I have so many formative memories of Joann, as our families throughout the 1960's & 70's were closely bonded.
She was the most cosmopolitan of "The Real Housewives of Belmont Gardens" & enviable in her many progressive talents including dressmaking, baking, interior design & upcycling, I will always remember her as a stylish, practical lady with a great sense of humor & impossible to outsmart!
Joann's Baked Cheese Cake is legendary in our family, & is requested & enjoyed at celebrations by 4 generations of our family!
Take care of yourselves xxxx
Sincere sympathy to Brian Aine Mave and Una on the sad news of the passing of their lovely mum Joann RIP. She and Jim were very generous and great supporters of St.Marys the local tennis club.

Our families lived just three doors apart and played together almost daily. Joann was one of my closest friends .Her cheesecake recipe alone will keep her memory alive with us .
Our sympathies on the passing of Joann. As the ‘new’ residents of her home we still enjoy the fruits of her lovely garden. May she rest in peace.
So sad for you all, what a wonderful mum, grandmother and friend to so many …thinking of you all, may she rest in peace ..xx
My sincerest condolences to Áine and all the Connell’s on the loss of your mother Joann.

I have very fond memories of traipsing across her back garden wall into the fields behind the tennis club at Belmont, and then Joann coming out to ‘tell us off’!

The next day, meeting her on the street,
all was forgiven.

She was the loveliest of ladies. A woman of class, style and integrity.

May she rest in peace.
Dear Una, Brian and Aine Maeve & family

I am so very sorry for your loss, Úna. My sincere condolences to you and all your family at this sad time. Fiona Walsh
I remember Joann coming to visit us in the United States. We made this huge full door banner welcoming her and taped it to the outside of the front door. We were all cheering her to run through the banner….when we realized no one opened the door on the other side! Joann ran right into the front door. Thank goodness she just laughed about it!!
Joanne was a wonderful lady and I feel privileged to have known her. Im thinking of you all during this incredibly sad time x
Deepest sympathies Maeve, Una, Brian and Aine . Your mum was such a great woman. So progressive, creative and great company. The first time I had apple pie was in Belmount Gardens made by your dear mum. I thought I had arrived !! Rest easy Joann xx
Maeve, Úna, Brian and Áine my sincere condolences to you and all of your families.

Joann was our American aunt who first introduced us to treats like choc chip cookies, angel food cake, peanut butter and many more.

Little did I know that later as a newlywed with a spouse from U.S. she would help me navigate my way with the American community in Dublin. She helped me out so much during those years and introduced me to many interesting people.

I was always amazed by her exceptional talent for sewing and inspired by her great cooking.

She was a lovely, kind lady who has left behind wonderful memories for all who knew her.

Áine, Maebh,Úna, Brian and families. So sorry for your loss. Your Mum had a great life/legacy and deserving of her eternal reward. She will be dearly missed by our Mum in particular. Halloween was her specialty. Amazing dress maker and baker. A recycler ahead of her time and very giving of her time to the community with meals on wheels and Alter cloths.I’m sure all her many talents have been passed on. Sending you love and strength, you are in our thoughts and prayers at this difficult time.xx
Dear Maeve & family, our thoughts are with you at this sad time, thinking of you love Trish (the late Tom Glancy’s wife Four Ferns)

My sincere condolences to Maeve, Una, Brian and Aine. I’m truly sorry to hear of the passing of Joann.
I had the pleasure of befriending her over the last two years, she was a lovely, funny and caring lady. I’ll miss our evening walks in the summer to grab an ice-cream on the way to the park, evenings on the couch watching friends with an cup of tea and her face lighting up when we talked about her children.
She really was one of a kind🤍

Sincerest condolences to Maeve, Una, Brian and Áine on the passing of your Mum. Such wonderful memories of hours spent in Number 33 where Joann introduced us to American experiences way before they reached these shores – Pippi Longstocking, Laura Ingalls Wilder, Dr Seuss, pineapple upside down cake, chocolate chip cookies and the infamous gingerbread men, which we spent hours making in your kitchen, to name but a few. She was so talented with her baking and sewing.
Joann was always lovely to meet and interested to hear what was going on in our lives. I can still hear her hearty laugh and sympathise with you all on your loss.
