Sincere condolences to all of Joe’s family, on his untimely passing.
He leaves many good memories to all who knew him.
I remember our attending Miss Malone’s in 1957 and later,
in St. Mary’s, when Joe first introduced some of us, to the
music of Bob Dylan, in 1963.
(I was sorry that I could not attend his funeral)
May he rest in peace!

So sad to hear of the passing of Joe , was very fond of him , and enjoyed his unique sense of humour , may he rest in peace , god bless
Please accept my sympathy on the death of Joe. I worked in IDA and was friend of Joe for a long time. He was a very special person to me. He made me laugh so much and that will be how II will remember him. I was in touch by txt very recently and I got no response to my last one, Joe was very brave and Alan will remember we met in Tenerife last year.I took a taxi to Mount Jerome this morning and eventually found his grave I was starting the crossword in the Irish times this morning and I saw the notice. I think Joe would be amused at me being a day late. Sincerely Ruth.
It is with great fondness that we remember Joe. He taught us rugby as little kids and always had such interest in us whenever we bumped into him for years after. Always brought a smile to our faces. A lovely man and a gentleman. Sincere condolences to Conal, Teresa, Killian, David, and Alan.
I loved Joe for his sarcastic sense of humour. He used to introduce himself as Joe Boland, no relation, but in truth I knew him so long ~ 1969, that it did not feel that way.
He cannot be replicated or replaced but always will be missed by one and all.

From the Paris Chapter Coffeys,
Our most sincere condolences to the Boland brothers – Killian, David, Conal and Alan. Joe was a wonderful thread running through our shared lives, from the 1970s right up to this day. Whether it was a chance meeting in Dodder Park, Rathmines or Ballsbridge (or leaning over a pint in Ashton’s) a chat with Joe was always an instant connection – rich in humour, stories, and the odd bit of divilment thrown in for good measure.
He will be sorely missed.
David, Vicky and Evan.
RIP Joe. XX

Deepest sympathies to Joe’s family and friends. … We miss you, Joe. Your warmth, intelligence, dry humour and acerbic wit will stay with us and keep you close. A man who suffered fools - but not for very long. Woodstock forever! (without the mud, as you’d say yourself). Adios, amigo.

So very sorry to hear of Joe’s passing a great neighbour will miss the many chats on the laneway.
Our sincerest condolences to the greater Boland family, especially his beloved sons Killian, David, Conal and Alan. Morning coffee and critical conversation in Searsons will never be the same again. What fun he would have correcting the spelling, grammar, syntax, fact, fiction or exaggeration in these messages of condolences. He was a great neighbour and an absolute gentleman, who will be sadly missed by those of us fortunate enough to have crossed his radar.

So sorry to hear of Joe's passing. My deepest condolences to Joe's family on their sad loss. Joe and I soldiered together in IDA NY for a few years and I have great memories with Joe from having a few 'tipples' in a few watering holes on 2nd Ave and shortly after I arrived he brought us hiking to Mount Marcy (upstate NY). Great memories, RIP Joe.
