Niall and family , I am only learning of your lovely Dad, Joe, passing this evening . My heartfelt condolences . I always loved meeting up with your Dad, a true gentleman if ever there was one, a wise and learned man on every subject, he was a positive force with a great community spirit. He walked for miles everyday up to recent years and would never accept a lift, ahead of his time with getting his steps in!!! Long before google. May lovely Joe rest in peace with his beloved May.
Fond childhood memories spent in Ballybrack with cousin Brian watching Jole's interest in his garden. A big thank you to May and Joe for your support to my Dad Vincent Carey . My thoughts are with you all. Cousin Austin

Moate All Whites GAA would like to extend sincere condolences to the Carroll family and friends, at Joe's sad passing.
Joe was a former player with the All Whites, as was his father Martin, who played on the first All Whites winning team of 1923.
Also, our fine club grounds today, Hogan Park in Moate, was purchased from Martin Carroll in 1950.

You are a Saint. You put up with so much from your kids and grandkids, for decades, but yet you never complained.
I think you were lost after May passed, but finally you will be reunited again forever. You’ll never be forgotten. My sons will tell their kids about the brilliant grandad they had, what a loving and caring person you were. Love you forever. You’ll never be forgotten ❤️.

Joe was (is) a beautiful uncle, who always made us so welcome, coming over from Essex, England (the children of Monica and Donal (Daniel) Carey.
He has gone to a fabulous, serene place, and we will meet again, one day; of this I can be sure
With much gratitude 🙏
