I loved meeting Joe on our walks around UCD. He was ALWAYS great company and had an interesting view on things. I was passing by his house on Monday (10 th Feb) and wondered how he and Dymps were as the last few times we’d interacted he was feeling his years. To Dymps, David and all his extended family (including Dominic) my sincere condolences- Joe was a one off IMO and I’m sorry we will never again have those interactions.
May he rest in peace.

Deepest sympathy to Dymps and all the Carton family on the very sad passing of Joe . Our friendship stretches back over 70 years and over this time we had the pleasure to share his company in sport , on vacation and especially socially in Milltown G.C. Many good laughs over the years .!
Always Joe brightened up the company and was respected and honoured as a real gentleman , high principled in business and life and a sports success but especially a wonderful family man . It was a great honour to have called Joe a friend . We were blessed to have had the good fortune to have called in to see him on his final day and to have shared some laughs and a little Milltown gossip ! Very much in our thoughts and prayers at this sad time
Sincere condolences to Michael, Anita and all of Joe’s dear family. May he rest in eternal peace.
