Joe Clavin

Such great sadness to hear of the death of Joe. I have many, many fond memories of him, always there in No 17 with a laugh and a joke. I am SO glad that our paths crossed, Joe, and I’ll always remember you. I had always intended returning those two oranges you lent me age 13. Much love to Betty, Jennie, Joseph and Aoife. Forever remembered. RIP Joe.

So so sorry to hear of the passing of our good friend Joe. I didnt hear about it as was up in Dublin at the ICU with Terry who has since passed away himself.

I've very fond memories of great training sessions and games at the Eight Acres. Joe fostered such great enjoyment and team spirit Condolences to Betty and all the Calvin's.

He earned their respect and trust and developed their potential. His enthusiasms extended far beyond hurling to his family and many hobbies. Betty and all the Clavin family, I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Joe. He was an absolute gentleman and a great hurling man. Great memories of the St Judes all Ireland hurling 7's with Moycullen especially in 2003 when he led us to victory. I was lucky enough to enjoy his company on numerous occasions, he will be sadly missed. RIP

So sorry to hear of Joe's passing. I have great memories of years of playing for Robert Emmets with Joe as our manager. He could get slightly animated on the sideline at times. Dear Betty, Jennie, Joseph and Aoife, it was with great sadness that I heard of the death of my dear friend Joe. When Joe managed Robert Emmet’s, I went to a lot of hurling matches with him, and that is when I developed my love of hurling. As St. Judes didn’t have a hurling team above minor level at the time, with a bit of persuasion I got Joe to join St. Judes and he set up a much needed junior hurling team, which was very successful.
Joe and I also had many good years playing Pitch & Putt together, and I have so many fond memories of our friendship. Thinking of all of you at this very sad time. May Joe rest in peace.🙏. Frank Gallagher.

Betty, Jennie, Joseph and Aoife, our deepest sympathies to you on the sad passing of Joe. Truly surprised at the news. Thought he was indestructible. He wore his age well. Was a dapper dresser. Joe made a huge contribution to the development of hurling in St Judes. He joined us from Robert Emmets in 1988, having previously won a County Junior Championship with BBSE in 1973. He managed and coached us to our first adult championship success in 1989 by winning the Junior Hurling Championship. Joe was responsible for printing our first 7's programme.1990. He subsequently successfully managed and coached our minor team.. Thank you Joe. You will never be forgotten in St Judes, especially by the hurling fraternity.
