I was saddened to hear about Joes passing from my Dad Gerry Connolly.

I only met Joe once when I was 10 and he came over with Phyllis and Margaret for my Uncle Jims funeral.

I had lovely memories of Joe even though it was only for the day he made it better with the huge hugs he gave me.

May the memories you all have of Joe bring you comfort and peace.

All our thoughts are with you.

Much love
Clare Connolly

Deepest condolences to Joe’s beloved wife, children, grandchildren and extended family. Was so saddened to hear of his passing. A true gentleman. I thoroughly enjoyed chatting to Joe many times each week when our paths crossed on his route to or from town. His humour and genuine good nature shone through. Will miss him very much. I had the pleasure of enjoying the company of Joe and friends every 2nd Thursday in Payroll in St Davnets for a number of years. I loved listening to the banter and stories of 4 very knowledgeable, grounded and witty men. In later years I met Joe with his litter picker on my way to and sometimes way home from work. Always a cheery hello and a big smile. A true gentleman and great community man.
