I have just read on RIP.ie of Joe's passing. I am in Spain for past week. Joe was a true gentleman to deal with when I was in First National or meeting him in Galway Chamber.

My sincere condolences to Joe’s wife and family on the passing of Joe. I have fond memories of Joe and Jo coming into buskers and ordering two glasses of Guinness from me. I worked in Buskers for many years and always loved seeing them both walk through the doors. Joe loved to sit near the big TV so that he could watch the rugby. I always loved looking after them. May his gentle soul rest in peace.

We knew the Curley family as both neighbors (originally, when they lived beside us on Dalysfort Road), and, also as friends, a friendship that survived moves to Woodquay, and, later still, Kinvara.

Joe was an absolute gentleman, and it was a privilege and pleasure to have known him.
