Joe EGAN

To dear Vera and all Joe's family. I have only just heard today 12 Oct of Joe's passing. I am so sorry to hear that he has passed away. He was such a lovely gentleman with such a good sense of humour. I'm sure he had had a great reunion with the Canon's and Mam and Dad in the hereafter. We are terribly saddened to hear of Joe’s passing and wish the Egan family condolences. Joe was such a gentleman and such a decent person. My late father Joe Briscoe was one of his best friends and they would meet up every week. I remember his wonderful energy, his jokes and laughs which always filled our house.
I personally always had a special regard for him and would talk to him when I came back to Ireland for visits. Joe will be missed badly by all the Briscoe family and particularly by myself.

Joe was a lovely man and a great husband to Vera and father to his children. He was a great neighbor too and was full of laughter and warmth and kindness. He will be sadly missed by many.

Wir haben uns nicht so häufig gesehen, aber wenn, waren es immer unbeschwerte und fröhliche Stunden, die wir zusammen verbracht haben. Ob bei euch in Dublin oder in Starnberg. An seine offene, herzliche Art sowie an seinen Witz und Humor werde ich mich gerne erinnern. Für mich war Joe in Eurer Familie "der Fels in der Brandung". Sein Tod bedeutet einen großen Verlust für uns alle, aber vor allem ein nur schwer erahnbarer Verlust für Dich und Deine Familie.
Ich denke an Joe, ich denke an Dich sowie an Jane, Neil, David, Berry und an alle Enkel.

Joe, the best father-in-law I could have ever hoped for. A man with a huge heart and an amazing sense of humor, full of jokes and endless stories.

Sincere sympathies to the extended Egan families on the sad passing of Joe whom I fondly remember from our years as fellow colleagues in PO Engineering/ Telecom. As near neighbors growing up in the Drumcondra area I was friendly with his brother Frank ( slogger) Egan with our involvement in Gardiner Street Church and the Altar Boys League. Worked alongside Joe in the Training Section in Leitrim House / Dublin Castle and always admired his well known organisational skills.An offshoot of course from his FCA experience. A larger than life person but a true Gentleman. May He Rest in Peace.

Joe will be sadly missed in the parish of our lady of victories, the committee of the meals on wheels and by all of his past colleagues in telecom éireann. Condolences to all of his family.
