I concur with what Bernie said, Joe was a great guy. It's a pity we didn't meet more often thought out the years but that's life. Sincere condolences to you Rita, to John, Frankie, Margaret and Joe junior, and to all the grandchildren and great grandchildren.

I was very sad to hear of the passing of one of life's great optimists, Joe Fallon. It was always a pleasure to meet Joe at any occasion and I am very sorry not to have been able to attend his funeral. His smiling demeanour and kind manner was unique. To Rita, his children, grandchildren, brother Declan, sister Francie, nieces, nephews and extended family and friends, please accept my deep condolences on your very sad loss.

Dear Rita, Frankie, Margaret, John and Joe and family, to sister Francie and brother Dec.

I was so sorry to hear of Joe’s passing, he was such a “live wire” and lit up the room with his great sense of humour, and his infectious laugh. The lovely picture is exactly how I remember him.

Unfortunately I can’t get to the funeral but I will watch it online. Love to all.

I first met Joe through the Dalkey Archives Cricket Team, of which he was a stalwart member when I was first involved. He was not only a wily bowler, but also a warm and welcoming presence at every game we played. He made new members feel like old friends. He also had a great level of commitment, during one season when the team was struggling for survival due to lack of numbers, he came straight from hospital to play in one our Friday evening games, rather than see the game cancelled.

When he retired from cricket in about 2016, the team lost one of its kindest and best players and we very much missed him. All of us who remember him send our love and support to all of Joe's family.

Will remember Joe fondly, a true gentleman and always great company.

My deepest sympathy to you all, many great lasting memories of fun, laughter , quick wit at the gatherings of the Fallon crew over many years. The gatherings were always such happy times, our mum, Marigold, the eldest , liked nothing more than her beloved brothers and sisters nieces and nephews gathered around.
In the middle of it, always, Joe roaring laughing.

To Rita, my sympathy on the loss of a devoted husband, and to Joes children, my sympathy on the loss of your Dad, he always spoke of you all with such pride.

Unfortunately I’m unable to make the funeral, but thinking of you all.
