Lovely memories of time in Rahan many years ago and watching the effort Joe put into refurbishing the gate house and making it so beautiful. Joe was very much a part of the Rahan community . Joe was a gentle man and a gentleman. Popular with all the staff irrespective of their location. What a wonderful contribution that he made to Irish education by his knowledge of his subject and his method of imparting that knowledge. I am proud to have known Joe and I hope that his family find some consolation in a life well lived.

I was so sad to learn of Joe McGreer's death in Tallagh Hospital recently. My deepest sympathy to you Lena and Malcome. I have only the best of memories of Joe and Lena on the many visits to them in Rahan during the years I was stationed in Mucklagh. Joe was a gentleman to his fingertips. Now may he rest in peace with his creator and maker. I will offer Mass for Joe in the morning here in Dalgan Park, and will try and join you all on the internet later on in the morning. With you in spirit and prayer during these sad days.
