We wish to offer our sincerest condolences to Kathleen, Mark, Brian and all the Gallagher family on the very sad passing of your beloved Joe.
I just heard the terrible news this morning from a former mutual work colleague in Royal Liver and can scarcely believe it.
I worked closely with Joe from 1979 in Dun Laoghaire, up to the day we both retired together more than twenty five years later and I have to say you could not meet a better man.
Joe was a man of the highest integrity and unwavering loyalty, whom it was my pleasure to have known.
I'm truly heartbroken for you Kathleen, and can only hope and pray that the memories of the many good days you both shared together will help see you through this very difficult time.

One of my abiding memories is when we had no ref for a game, Joe stepped in - and certainly could not be accused of favouritism - he went the other way and we got nothing from him ! he’d never had it said of him ! A man of integrity. RIP Joe.
