Deepest sympathy to all the Hayes family on the loss of your beloved dad and granddad. Another Killeshandra legend gone. My dad Freddie knew both Joe and and his brother Jim all his life. I remember him saying when Jim died, 'Killeshandra without Jim Hayes is hard to imagine'. I know he would say the same about Joe, but predeceased him by just under 4 months. Nearly 50 years since we moved to Killeshandra and never a single negative word have I ever heard about Joe. True gentleman is a phrase used over and over to describe him. And his musical talent and years dedicated to the choir. May Joe rest in peace with his dear wife Mary and brother and sister Lucy and all his loved ones gone before him.
