We are so very sorry to hear of Joe’s passing. We had the pleasure of meeting him at our son’s wedding…a gentleman all the way. We hoped to travel to his home area and meet up with him again. I have just heard with the greatest of sadness - the passing on Thursday of another lovely soul - Retired District Officer - Joe Hanlon - Dublin Fire Brigade - I got to know Joe through my Dad - mostly at funerals and functions - and then when I joined the Brigade - having the greatest privilege to work with him on occasions - he was an amazing Officer - kind - knowledgeable - and most importantly a friend and mentor - Joe - your shift is over - Sleep tight - may you Rest In Peace 🙏 your old mate Buzzer
