A really lovely man. I was lucky enough to be be in several of his classes over the years.

I remember he turned up every single morning of our leaving cert exams offering people help in random subjects he had nothing to do with. He really cared.

Joe was an incredible teacher, his passion and warmth will live long in the memories of his students. I will always be grateful for his last minute maths grinds before my leaving certificate.
I was fortunate to meet him recently, where he warmly recalled memories , friend's and family members.

Only hearing now about Joe's passing.
Joe was a wonderful person and teacher.
He was so kind and encouraging to my daughter when he was helping her with maths.He was genuinely interested and wanted her to do well.He went out of his way to ensure she did her best.He spent hours with her until she understood the maths concepts.He cycled to our house and delivered detailed hand written notes into our letterbox every week. He was always so positive and genuinely interested.
Thank you Joe for giving my daughter confidence.
He also spoke so highly of all his family.
He really was one of a kind.
May his beautiful soul rest in eternal peace.

He cared so much about all of us and pushed us to reach our full potential.Once I finished my LC he was the first person I called.He had such a passion for teaching he even took time out of his day to help me with my English exam.I’d look forward to my grinds with Joe because I’d get to learn so much about all his travelling him and Nuala had done whilst also getting to have a few digestives!!He was such an amazing person and he will be deeply missed. Rest in peace Joe x

Condolences to the Mehigan family. I was fortunate to have a great relationship with Joe through my time in St Paul’s, he was a real giver and I certainly benefitted from his help on many occasions. We spoke in more recent times about golf and sport. An incredible man.

It is with great sadness that I remember my former colleague Joe. He was a great friend to all in St. Paul’s College and much loved by his students.
