I was so sorry to hear of Joe’s death. I have very fond memories of climbing many a mountain in Connemara in Joe’s company many moons ago. Joe always had a smile for everyone and was a gentleman to his fingertips. He will be sadly missed. My deepest sympathies to his family.

The last time he was in we broke the rules and he sat inside by the window even though only take away was permitted. Dear Una and Murray family, my sincere sympathises on Joe's passing.
Thank you for sharing him with us. Though your hearts were breaking you gave him a peaceful death. Joe will live in our memories when we recall the kindnesses and considerations he gave to others. Joe was steadfast in his opinions at school in the Bish. He was the bedrock of our Sports and Social club in SPS. He initiated collections for worthwhile causes and was noted for his absolute honestly. His loyalty to the Labour Party was inspirational. He loved the Irish traditional music scene and would doodle down to sessions in the Crane Bar when in Galway. Joe is a "Legend " and an example to all understated people of strong beliefs. RIP Joe.

Joe was a great friend and colleague to us and to so many in An Post. He was kind, thoughtful and always willing to help.
