His infectious smile, genuine approach, patience, kindness and good humour will be what we hold in our hearts and are his blessed legacy to us all. Whatever little comfort it may be, he touched the lives of all of us who were lucky to know him.

To Nicole, Dylan, Harry, Ava and Lily, Grandad is at the right hand looking lovingly and kindly down upon you hoping that you are all safe and well, remembering with fondness the good times you all had. Keep him in your prayers in the same way that he keeps you in his in heaven.

He was such a nice man and a wonderful nurse. He was absolutely marvelous when he looked after our Mam in Portumna Retirement Home. We trusted him, and he never let us down. He always knew the right things to do and the right things to say.

We are devastated to hear of his death.

May the good Lord care for Joe as he cared for so many during his lifetime, and may Joe continue to look out for those that he loved and that loved him.

May Joe rest gently in the peace of the Lord forever.

Heartbroken to hear about Joe's tragic death. What a lovely man he was. I had the privilege of working with him in Portumna.
He taught us so much about how to care for people. He was such a huge influence on all of the younger staff. He taught us not only how to look after residents and their families but also the importance of looking out for each other.
He was such a lovely lovely man. He is a loss to all who knew him.
