Definition of a successful Life (by Ralph Waldo Emmeson)

To laugh often and much;
To win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children;
To earn appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends;
To appriciate beauty, to find the best in others;
To leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child,a garden path or a redeemed social condition;
To know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived.
(Ralph Waldo Emerson)

My condolence to Joan,Grahame, Linda and Paul and all of Joeys loving family on their sad loss.

Joey you are and will always be deeply missed. But those of us whose lives you touched shall never forget you. Shine bright in the sky as we wait for ur next JinnyJoe to float by.

loved always
Mr T. x.

Rest in Peace
Broken hearted
Joey, because you left so suddenly we never got to say goodbye or share a parting hug with you. But your love and the treasured memories of your presence in my life are printed on my heart forever & no one can ever take that away from me.
You were 4yrs old when you stormed into our lives like a little tornado. Blond hair, blue eyes that could melt the hardest of hearts & you had a dainty Blackrock accent to boot. Joey, as the song says "You had me at hello"
I know all the family gave you the best childhood possible hoping to make up for the very sad rocky start you got in life.
But for Grahame, Linda, Paul & myself, our lives were made all the richer for being fortunate enough to have had you in our family. It was an honor & a privilege to watch you grow into the fantastic young man you became. I will be eternally greatful for the support, love & help you gave unconditionally to me during my own difficult times.
Joey you were a fine young man and I was blessed to know that you were always there for me, and I can still here you say, "you've got this Jojo & I'v got your back"
The one comfort for now is believing that on you passing Nana Eileen & all of our heavenly angels welcomed your sweet soul into their loving world with open arms, plenty of hugs & lots of pink bubbles of love.
Goodbye for now my
darling Joey
Namaste
Thanks for all the laughs Joey, particularly the ones when we weren't meant to be laughing.
Joey ,
Such a beauty inside & out , now your dancing somewhere else . You will be missed by all , Rip Angel xx
Joey is missed by so many.
Joey was a great friend, a wonderful person and had such a big positive impact on people around him. Joey figured people out quickly and he always seemed to either make people laugh, or help others out - often both.
His quick wit, enthusiasm and positive impact on everyone around him will be a cherished memory forever.
May he rest in peace.
Rip to Joeys family.
May you rest in peace.
In your short life joey you were loved and thought of so much by everyone you met.
Joey,

I'm going to really miss you. You are truly a person that you meet once and never forget. You had an incredible gift to light up a room, to make people feel at ease with themselves and to poke fun in the right direction.
I understand now that something else was happening underneath that and I'm sorry. I'm sorry I didn't recognise the signs and offer you what you needed in support.
Your closest friends might never know the full details, and that is ok, we will always remember the true Joey, the one that was the life and soul of any group, the person that you felt a great joy whenever you bumped into them and the Joey that connected so many disparate groups together. Whenever I think of something risque, I will always remember you and your unbelievable shenanigans.

Rest in peach Joey and see you again one day.
Joey Barrett was a wonderful human being. We worked together 5 years but it felt like a lifetime (in the good way). In that time we truly became friends. As I got to know him better I realized that underneath his sarcastic exterior that he often times showed to the world, there was a truly compassionate, caring generous soul that wanted to make the world a better place, especially for the people he cared about. To his family and friends my heart breaks for you in a way that written words can not do justice. I loved this man like a brother, he was a Point of Light in the world and I will be forever grateful for the time I had with him.
It’s hard to find the words to describe the gaping hole you have left behind. You were the definition of a bright light, that person you meet that walks the world in his own unique way and draws everyone towards him. Thank you for all the giggles and fun yet serious conversations. Your humour, warmth and kindness will shine bright in my memory forever. May you rest in peace.
Joey, I’ll miss your cheeky laugh, your mighty wit and your kind heart.
You lit up any room you walked into and people were always drawn to you.
You were loved by so many - thank you for your friendship

I’ll never forget you x
I was so very sad to learn of Joey’s passing. I worked with Joey for 7 years. Bright, interested and proactive, he always brought positive energy into the room. Sincere condolences to Joey’s family. My thoughts are with you all.
Joey, so loving and caring and always there for me no matter what. You were one in a million. You will be missed by so many and I’ll always think about you and miss you forever. 💔❤️
Joey is an irreplaceable force of nature. Although I only knew him for a short time, he made a big impact - Joey was unbelievably welcoming and kind to me since I started Zendesk. Above all, he was great fun and always happy to join any form of social event. He has left a huge void and will never be forgotten. My sincere condolences to Joey's family - you will be in my thoughts and prayers over the coming days and weeks. I hope your happy memories of Joey can provide some comfort during this most difficult time xx
RIP Joey, our condolences to all the family
Joey, we shared some great times together.. you made me laugh, dance, and you offered me your wisdom when I needed it. Not only were you the life of the party but you were always making sure everyone was alright. I feel lucky to have met you in this lifetime.. you burned bright my friend. My condolences to Joey's family.
Only Joey could influence, impact and empower someone from the other side of the world and that someone is me.

We met at Zendesk and instantly connected through our love of radio, technology and drag. We had an intense and wickedly fun friendship that I will never forget. He was always cheering me on, even though his sassy messages sometimes said otherwise.

A truly beautiful soul, way too powerful for this earth. I absolutely adore you Joey. I'll be looking for you in rainbows from this day forward.

Love, Aza, Della, Gidget & Penny xo 💜
I have so many fond memories of Joey from our time in a call centre in Limerick, where he brightened every working day (and night out) with his quick wit, sense of humour, and fun loving nature. I still smile when I see some of our Facebook memories pop up! My deepest condolences to Joey’s family and friends, may he rest in peace ❤️
I still remember my first impression of Joey way back in our IADT days was being blown away with just how talented he was for someone so young. Those days were filled with such fun and laughter largely due to how infectious Joeys personality was, he always had me and everyone else in stitches, such craic we'd have together. So sad to hear of his sudden passing, my condolences and deepest sympathy to all his family and friends. Gone far too soon, RIP Joey xx
When I look back over all the years I worked in radio, it’s safe to say Joey made it for me. We started out in TallaghtFM, went on to IADT, kept in touch. I cannot believe he is gone and I will miss his sense of humour terribly. He was so incredibly talented. Shoot among those stars Joey. Miss you already. Until we meet again xx
Expressing my sincerest condolences to Joey's family, friends and colleagues. I feel super lucky to have worked with Joey and I'll miss our zooms, chats and daily banter. My last words to him were, "You're the bomb Joey" and that doesn't even come close to describing his pizazz. He was a special person and I'm grateful to have known him.
I didn't have a chance to meet you in person, unfortunately, but it was heartbreaking to learn that you're gone so suddenly.
My deepest condolences to Joey's family and friends.
Zendesk Dublin won't be the same without you 💔
Joey is someone I have always had a special place in my heart for even though we lost touch many years ago. I will never forget the years of fun we had at college, sharing apartments together, and all the laughs along the way. We had many great nights and many a great fight! :) I have never met anyone like Joey, he was a bright, shining light, full of mischief and laughter and could brighten a room no matter where he went. Condolences to all his family and friends.
RIP Joey xxx
I had the privilege of working with Joey through his day job, at Zendesk. Joey was a thoughtful, hilarious force, that always had his customer and teams in mind. He pushed our team to be better as a result of his work. He was also the most fun to hang out with! We enjoyed a few espresso martinis and he always loved a good whiskey. Cheers to you Joey - you touched so many and will be missed dearly. To all Joey's friends and family, my heart breaks for your loss. It was great to hear about his early days, I would expect nothing less of Joey. I will remember him as the brightest and funniest of lights.
The loss of someone dear to us is never easy, please accept my deepest condolences. It was great to work with Joey and he will be truly missed.
My dear friend Joey I have no words to describe how I'm feeling. You were 1 in a million and will always remain forever in my heart. I will always treasure the time we spent together. From strokers to milk to bar 31 to god knows what bar we would end up in. You will never be forgotten my friend. Rest easy, next cocktail and dance I'll have will be for you. Love u always and forever. 💔

Joey, you were the brightest light. You were the heart of everything at Zendesk. Your energy and sense of fun was simply contagious. You made me smile every time we passed each other. I remember vividly our last proper conversation. And it was the first time I really understood that under the bubbly, fun loving facade was a delicate and vulnerable soul. Thank you. It was a privilege to share space with you in this life. You will be greatly missed. See you again x
Joey, you were the most kindest person I ever met, I enjoyed every single minute with you during college, the amazing meals, the late night outs, copious cocktails and fixing my computer on a daily basis! Joey was a beacon of light, too bright for this world. Anyone who met him felt such a deep connection - he had the ability to make you feel special in the tiniest moments. We've had some great times. He always wanted to help people and despised terrible customer service! He was perfect for Zendesk! Never shy to raise an issue or represent a cause he felt strongly about. He had a voice and what a voice it was. Rest easy my friend.
