I'm very sorry to hear Jo has passed away. I've known her from coming into the shop since i was young. She was always so nice. I've always thought of her as a friend more than a customer. She will be greatly missed.

Aunt Josie was always a delight to see when we as a family visited Ireland, and made our way to her home at Dublin. Bright and humorous, time was spent recalling some of the past, but always enjoying the present in her warm company.
There was another link too: I opened a branch of O'Briens Irish Sandwich Bar in Singapore, and the next thing I knew was that Auntie Jo was helping the O'Briens founder Brody Sweeney in his bid to enter Parliament! So she became quite bit famous in Singapore too! She was the last of my father's generation and you are greatly missed and loved, Aunt Josie.

So sorry hearing about the passing of Joe Hanna who i have known for many years. We had very interesting discussions while canvassing for Fine Gael. She had great stories about her early life in Mitchelstowm,going to England and then coming to live in Donaghmede. She was a really nice lady and my deepest sympathy toall her family. I want to say thank you for all your kindness and friendship shown to Mum (aka Mrs. Hanna /Jo) over many decades. Mum really ,really loved you all and thoroughly loved living each and every day of her life knowing you all. Please don’t forget her ☘️❤️

Jo was one of the finest people I ever knew. The Donahies Community school has lost a lifelong friend and advocate. Her genuine support and friendship will be remembered by us all, especially the many individual students who she looked out for when they needed support.

Very saddened to learn of Jo Hanna’s passing ,first got to know her in the early seventies ,she was a tireless campaigner for all community ,social and political issues in the fledgling growing community of Donaghmede.
It was always with a bit of banter,charm and good humour.

I was very saddened to learn of the passing of Jo. She was a remarkable lady full of energy and zest for life. I first met her in 2005 when I worked with one of the candidates in the 2007 General Election. I was struck by her support, enthusiasm and loyalty.

‘Mrs Hanna’ as she was known to us all growing up in The Donahies’ in the 1970’s was a remarkable and incredibly nice lady She left an indelible impression not just on me but I am sure as well on anybody and everybody she ever came into contact with. A wonderful, kind and caring person and I will never forget her kind words, thoughts, compassion and deeds following the death of my parents. A lovely lady and as somebody said earlier ‘Mrs Hanna’ will be going straight to heaven.

Our heartfelt sympathy to Jean, Ann, Kevin and Dermot and their families. Josie was such a beautiful person inside and out. How she enjoyed her visits to Nobber for the wee break! I remember her dancing round the kitchen floor with my father Patsy on Saturday nights to Ceili House or maybe a CD. The last time I saw her was in Nobber when mam and I and her grandson Niall all had lunch together after the blessing of the graves. She was a ray of sunshine whenever you met her and left you feeling better for having met her. May your gentle soul rest in eternal peace Josie.

I was so saddened to hear of Johannas passing. I came across her many years ago, and she was always so full of and enthusiastic for life. I met her many times since then, and she was always such a lovely person to deal with and to speak to. Rest in perfect peace.
