We still can't believe you're gone - we're all set to watch your funeral service tonight from NZ and be with you in spirit and love. Mum and I were reminiscing together today about all your crazy antics and idiosyncrasies, laughing at all your insults for people - especially "Muppet."
When a car pulled out in front of me out without indicating today I yelled out "Ya muppet." Mum was in the car with me and we both cracked up - that insult was in honor of you ha haaa.
One of a kind you were. You will be forever in our hearts and never forgotten. You fought a courageous battle and now it is time to rest peacefully without the weight of this world on your shoulders. There are many people waiting for you at the gates so enjoy the catch ups with our dear Aki and your Godmother Mary. Please come visit us especially Mum - she is missing you more than I can ever describe, but that was always going to be the way. Manuia lou malaga my crazy Uncle, so many awesome memories from when I was a child.

So very sorry to hear of the loss of such a lovely gentle man. Sincere condolences to Deirdre and all of Johns family and friends near and far. Our enduring memory of John will be seeing him pass our house walking his small lovely white sailboat up the street in Ballycotton and down to the slip in The Cow. A little while later he would be out in the bay sail fluttering in the wind.
