I’m saddened & shocked to hear about John’s untimely passing. We became good friends as we met up whilst on walks in Caleta de Fuste. He was a lovely man with a great sense of humour, and I shall miss him.

I was so very sorry to hear of John's untimely passing. He will always be known as Scotty to me, a wonderful character to meet at the Gate on the way to work. Sincere condolences to all his family.

I was fortunate to have worked with Scotty during his time in CMH. He was always in good form and a welcoming face at the "gate" when arriving to work. He made use of his jovial presence in his role in the Recreation dept, where he went went over and above in delivering the best possible enjoyment for the patients under his care. My deepest condolences to Sarah And all his family. May he Rest in Peace.

Can’t fully describe the impact John had on my family. John thank you for being such a loving, funny, dependable cousin and friend to my Mum. You were always like a brother to her and an uncle to us girls.

This is such a tragic loss, we are all so very shocked and can’t quite believe it, but John will be easiest person to remember and carry with us through the rest of our lives. Thank you for many a great craic, your incredible love and being such a special person to us all.
