We’ve just belatedly learned of Sean’s passing from a lady Orlaith Carmody who worked with Sean’s firm Park Public Relations some years ago . My own company FLogas Ireland were long standing clients of Park PR and enjoyed working with Sean and his capable team over many years He had a sharp intellect and was very incisive with his professional contributions and was a very interesting conversationalist

To all JR's loving family and remembering his dearest Jill. My sadness is mixed with joy as I remember his many talents; how he lived life to the full and how I was always enlivened by his presence. At our last meeting three months ago, we read his poetry. Beyond any cerebral losses, he was fully present, living his dying.
My heart's compassion encircles all of you.

My deepest sympathies to Cathy and all the family on Seán's passing. I was so lucky to have him as my first boss and mentor in PR and to have the privilege of learning from his wisdom and good humour. May he rest in peace.

So sorry to hear of JRs passing -he was a fine man -gentle and humorous and very kind. loved our coffees together in Baggot St, meals in Reenagreena and the chats about many diverse topics ! Hear you all gave him a great send off Lots of love

Sincerest condolences to the Riordan family on the death of Sean. I remember him very well from Park on Merrion Square when my Mam, Emer worked with Sean for many years. He was a patient man when I, as a student would regularly drop in (probably looking for cash!).
His expression "keep on truckin" was regularly used by Emer over the years.

I had many happy conversations with John and his friend Alan about creativity and I prized his poetry, his love of jazz, the natural world, birdwatching, sailing and travel, the spirit world, business, and his constant love for his wife and family . My condolences to Peggy and to Richard and Pat, Willie, Michael and Mags and the extended Riordan family on the passing of John. I’ve known him since secondary school - we were in the same class at UCD and then I dealt with John professionally all through his PR days. What a gentle man. I don’t ever remember a cross word between us over our sixty plus years. I greatly appreciate this and am very proud to have been his friend. I was privileged to spend a few hours with John last summer. May his dear and gently soul now rest in peace after several difficult years.
